Hi Peeps! It is that time of year again.........The new administration is covertly and overtly having an effect on our fight to the end the HIV epidemic that began more than 40 years ago. While we still have access to medication in America, they have already held back extensive funding for PEPFAR which provides billions in funding for HIV medication globally. 

The first documented cases of AIDS appeared in 1981. By 2024 the HIV epidemic has infected 75-100 million worldwide and there are 44.1 million confirmed deaths since the beginning. In the early days, epidemiologist thought this was much like other infections and would snuff itself out (disappear). We also thought that a vaccine would be developed by now, and that would end the epidemic. As you know, neither of these things happened. 

As my family and friends, I ask that you remember that I (and many others) continue to fight for treatment access, prevention and hopefully one day a cure.
