Support Our Mission: Build Friendships, Uplift Community, and Spread HIV Awareness
At FriendZoned, we believe friendship is a powerful form of care—one that creates safer, healthier, and more connected communities. As a vibrant, inclusive hub centering QTBIPOC individuals and their allies, we are committed not only to fostering genuine friendships but also to addressing the unique health and wellness needs of our community. That includes the fight against HIV stigma and inequity.
FriendZoned was born from a simple truth: many of us are craving connection. Founded by Lex Gaines in 2023, FriendZoned was created as a space where people could show up as their full selves, meet others without pressure, and feel truly seen and supported. But being in community also means being informed, empowered, and safe—and that's where HIV awareness becomes essential.
HIV continues to disproportionately impact QTBIPOC communities, and too often, silence and stigma keep us from getting the care and information we need. That’s why outreach and education are core to our mission. Through partnerships, events, and open conversations, we’re helping normalize dialogue around sexual health, expand access to resources, and uplift voices that have long been marginalized in public health spaces. From our book club meetings, to speed friending, our the mentorship program, Friendzoned is committed to a world where those living with and impacted by HIV/AIDS can thrive and feel a sense of belonging.
By supporting our fundraising efforts, you’re investing in more than just social events—you’re helping our community partner and beneficiary organization, the LGBTQ+ Institute, sustain a brave, joyful, and informed community. Your donation fuels free and affirming programming, including HIV testing, wellness workshops, and educational events that meet people where they are.
With nearly 40,000 people in Atlanta living with HIV, every step we take and every donation we receive makes a difference in saving lives, numbers disproportionately impacting the QTBIPOC communities, it’s important that we work to build a world where friendship, health, and empowerment go hand in hand. Walk With Us. Build a Stronger Community.
Donate today and help us keep showing up for each other—because community is care.
